Yesterday, a colleague and I decided to check out the new St. James Corner pub just one block west of our beloved patio hang-out the Drum & Monkey here in Calgary. It turns out that it is a beautifully decorated Irish Style pub with awesome dark oak furnishings and old world touches.
The food we had was amazing but to my surprise, the provider for their signature “St. James Signature Pale Ale” grabbed my attention. It turns out that Okanagan Spring Pale Ale is their signature brew down at the pub and I was very happy to realize this was for real.
If you’ve never had a “Spring Pale Ale” you should really head down to the pub and try one out. It really is a true patio beer and accompanies pretty much any item the pub has on their menu. It is definitely the new “spot” for me and my colleagues when we head out for a great lunch!!
