There’s an article on BBC which is stating that dog owners entirely project human values onto their pets when they say they know that their dog has the “guilty” look.
I can tell you having been a dog owner for over 10 years that this statement couldn’t be further from the truth. I ABSOLUTELY, WITHOUT A DOUBT know by my dog’s body-language, ears and facial expression that she has done something wrong.
I don’t know if these tests that the lab in New York did was with the owner’s own pet or with other dogs, but even so, if you know your dog, you really do know when they’ve done something THEY know was wrong.
